Discover the Wonderful World of Single Malt Scotch
At traditional Robbie Burns’ Day events, the evening begins with the Selkirk Grace – a poem expressing gratitude for what is about to be served.
Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat, and we can eat,
And sae let the Lord be thankit.
And we are definitely thankful! All of us at Savvy Company invite you to join us to celebrate renowned Scottish poet Robert Burns on his 253rd birthday, and to discover the wonderful world of single malt Scotch whisky - a drink that brings people together.
Scotch expert Carol Anderson – owner of Ottawa’s GrapeScot – specializes in hosting scotch tastings for novices & aficionados alike. Carol’s endearing Scottish accent will captivate you as she shares her expertise in the fascinating story of scotch, the different types, the protected regions and the influences on the flavours. On this special occasion, we will honour Scotland’s bard with some traditions and toast, and a wee bit of piping!
With a fine range of single malt scotches, we will tour the regions of Lowland, Highland, Speyside and Islay and experience different styles and flavours on the way including:
Each scotch will be paired with hors d’oeuvres created by chefs at Thyme & Again Creative Catering.
